Bountiful birds along the Wales Coast Path
The Wales Coast Path offers walkers a spectacular array of birds. In Wales’ many estuaries, huge numbers of curlews, redshank, knot and other waders probe the mudflats for food. Vast flocks of geese and ducks arrive in Autumn for the winter. In spring and summer, tightly-packed gulls, kittiwakes, guillemots and razorbills nest on cliffsides, while offshore gannets plunge dramatically into the sea. Overhead, watch for hunting peregrines and Wales’ iconic red kites, too. The path promises sightings of a wealth of both common and rare birds throughout the seasons.
