Caernarfon Castle is on the Wales Coast Path

Castles and forts along the Wales Coast Path

Wales is often called the ‘Land of Castles’. Amazingly, there are more castles per square mile in Wales than in any other country in Europe. Wales once had some 600 castles; today, more than 400 castles, forts and earthworks survive – and can be visited. Castles on the Wales Coast Path include stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites like medieval Conwy and its walled town, Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Harlech.
