Islands and skerries on the Wales Coast Path
The Wales Coast Path winds past offshore islands, large and small. The largest, Anglesey, promises dramatic scenery and ancient sites. Anglesey’s Holy Island boasts rugged cliffs and the stunning South Stack lighthouse. Ramsey Island, Skomer and Skokholm provide sanctuaries for seabirds, including puffins. Bardsey, or ‘Ynys Enlli’, off the tip of Llyn, has long been the goal of pilgrimage, while Caldey Island, off Tenby, is home to Cistercian monks. These coastal gems offer walkers natural beauty, Welsh history and culture, and vibrant ecosystems.
